My Chloroform
My Chloroform was formed in 2008 by Kate and Richard Sparkes and were later joined by Emma Holbrook and Rob Male. Their intention was to create a fresh new sound by combining rhythmic elements of trance and trip hop with the psychedelic sounds of synths and guitars more reminiscent of early Pink Floyd and 80s cult band Japan, with further influences from Massive Attack, Portishead and Unkle.
Their aim is to produce music of high quality therefore, great care is taken over the production, performance, lyric writing and general musical content. It is musically accessible enough to have broad appeal but still retains a sonic complexity that nurtures the bands creativity.
My Chloroforms’ debut album Shine was released in January and is available in cd format from their website www/mychloroform/co.uk and CdBaby and digitally available from all the usual online stores. The title track of the album ‘Shine’ also has an accompanying video which can be seen on YouTube (www.youtube.com/mychloroformmusic) along with a short film to another track ’Slide’, both produced by Laconic Films.
